There is real need for Zimbabweans to panic as we witness yet another goal post shifting by Emmerson Mnangagwa’s regime in what can be aptly described as a Zanupf bid to tighten its grip on power.
The second amendment Bill to our Constitution must be viewed for what it is. This is a ploy by Zanupf to exploit any available opportunities that will give them an unfair advantage over rivals as it prepares for the 2023 general elections. Giving the President more powers to appoint more cabinet ministers than was originally provided by the changed Constitution does exactly that. Is that not the very reason why the Nation had to change to a new Constitution as they felt that the then President, Robert Mugabe was getting excessively powerful.
I hope Zanupf is not setting a new precedence where they will constantly ammend the Constution in order for them to stay longer in power.
