At a time when the nation and the progressive world is expecting President Mnangagwa to do the right and honourable thing, that is implementing the reforms that will ensure a free and fair 2023 general election, we see a man who is well known for dabbling in voodoo rituals concentrating on the statue of Mbuya Nehanda. Whilst President Mnangagwa is entitled to believe in his own opinion, he must be warned and reminded that some of his folly will continue to ruin the prospects of a peaceful resolution to the political challenges that bedevil Zimbabwe.
President Mnangagwa is apparently failing to understand the source of the bone of contention at the centre of the Zimbabwe crisis. After the famous Rosina Mavhunga’s diesel from the rock story ‘ Zimbabweans are well aware of this government’s faith and belief in solving the country’s challenges through rituals. The president needs to understand that the solution to Zimbabwe’s crisis requires implementing political reforms rather than believing that statues will suddenly solve the Zimbabwe crisis and bad governance.
