Misery and humanitarian challenges will obscure the celebrations of International Day of Happiness in Zimbabwe .

My heart bleeds to the core as we celebrate International Day of Happiness(20th March) .  As it says , it’s a day meant for everyone to be happy and recognise the importance of happiness,  but in Zimbabwe,  that has since lost relevance. The 17 Sustainable Development goals launched by the United Nations in 2015 seek to promote happiness and eliminate poverty and inequality to achieve well being and happiness of the whole world, have lost relevance in Zimbabwe.

Gross human rights violations and abuses imposed by the government of Zimbabwe are of great concern and breaches the fundamental goals to Happiness.
This year’s theme ” HAPPINESS FOR ALL  , FOREVER “clearly outlines the need for us all to go an extra mile to show love and kindness especially in this year when the world has been hit by the pandemic.

Zimbabwe government of Emerson Mnangagwa thrives on abusing , torturing and persecuting its citizens for exercising their fundamental rights . Surely Zimbabweans should not be left in sorrow and misery and the international world should put pressure to the Zimbabwe government to uphold and make political reforms in order for  it to be part of the international happiness day .
