There is a famous Shona quotation that says, “Kunyangira Yawona”. This is a case of a one eyed man trying to cheat a man with two eyes. This is exactly what we have found President Emmerson Mnangagwa attempting to achieve with the “second amendment Bill to the Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 Constitution.

It is a true fact that President Mnangagwa read Law. What I might doubt is if President Mnangagwa would be ranked as one of the smartest advocates or barristers .As a man who has read Law, President Mnangagwa is well versed with the implications of the amendments he is calling for on “Our” Constitution. It is very clear that his motive to amend our Constitution is more driven by deception than the desire to make Zimbabwe a better governed state. In other words,  President Mnangagwa is trying to cheat the Law.

The challenge by the Zimbabwe Judiciary on the validity of the second amendment Bill to the Zimbabwe Constitution is not only welcome but rekindles our faith in the Zimbabwe Judiciary. This is coming at a time when the majority of Zimbanweans had completely lost faith in the independence of our Judiciary.

The struggle seems to be taking a new turning point. Aluta Continua !!!!
