The plight of Zimbabweans’ who are forced pay water bills (by the thieving Junta), in the face of a lack of adequate sewage works, drainage and running water finally seems to have come to a head, especially in the areas of Seke in Chitungwiza. Some have endured 3 years without running water, what water there is, is sometimes smelling like excrement, yet, even this water is for sale, half price.
Speaking on the Youtube channel called Stewart Nyamayaro, a young lady seemed to be at her home and complaining quite vividly about the lack of facilities.
Amongst other things she said, “We currently have a water problem……… There is no water in our taps. We have now gone for 3 years without water (in our taps). Even if you look at the water point, there is no sign of water. We have raised our concerns with the city council, to no avail. Some people said, its our old pipes which can no longer cary water to us. However, We still get our water bills.”
She then went on to say, ” the city father told us we have to wait for the rainy season, so that when Kariba is dam fills up, then that’s when water will be available. This lack of water is causing diarrhoea, especially in children. For me I have eye problems because of flies, due to the unavailability of water.”
“We get water by going to a shallow well in the bushes. It is sewage water so we use it to wash.”
“At times I have a bit of money to buy borehole water at $2 a bucket. It is quite a distance to walk. Especially when carrying 3 buckets a day. “
Another gentleman explained that all the properties in front of him had blocked sewage works due to a lack of water and that the likely best thing to do, was to fix the sewage then the water.
The above shows clearly that the likelihood of diseases such as Typhoid, Cholera and Dysentery becoming endemic within the normal populous is extremely high. The simple fact is that the continued Wholesale Looting of Zimbabwe is for the benefit of ZANU PF big wigs only. Those the small people are being forced to live in squalid conditions. Thus this complacency within the Junta, is causing a Slow and Silent Genocide.
